The main components of a good video are good lighting and clear audio. You should make a few test videos so that you can fine-tune these elements.
  1. Speak slowly and clearly. Write down the most important points about your item so that you cover all the information during filming. A good microphone helps too-if you aren't getting the audio quality you like, try out another microphone.
  2. Choose your camera. PC video cameras work fine for small items. For bigger items, digital camcorders or digital cameras with video capability will give you more range of motion than a PC camera tethered to your computer.
  3. Slow and steady goes for your item, too. When you are recording the item you are selling, turn it slowly, and point out all distinguishing features. Video lets you show and tell your story more completely than a still picture.
  4. Bright lights. Make sure the area you are pointing the camera at is well-lit. You might want to use a desk lamp that you can point at your item so that you can better control the level of light.
  5. Keep your video short. Longer videos will take longer to load-so only make it as long as is needed.
  6. From zero to sixty. Each video can be up to sixty seconds long. You can record a longer video and crop it to your desired length using the editing tools in the Composer.
  7. Save your videos. If you want to use the same video more than once, you'll need to save it on your hard drive. Otherwise, the next time you make a video with the Composer, the previous video will disappear and be replaced with the new one.
